Personally Speaking

“Seeking help is a courageous act. Constant worry or pervasive sadness can leave you feeling helpless and hopeless, and it is often difficult to acknowledge that you cannot seem to get “unstuck” on your own. But these challenging times in life are ultimately opportunities for growth, and by initiating therapy you are taking an important step towards healing. Therapy can help you remove obstacles to reaching your fullest potential and can guide you towards living wholeheartedly. I am here to empower you to bring about positive change in your life.”

Alison is a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in working with quarterlifers in individual and group therapy. She has worked extensively with young adults with anxiety and depression as well as those experiencing life transitions, self-esteem issues, or relationship difficulties. She also has a great deal of experience working with members of the LGBTQ community as well as individuals with complex medical issues, including HIV-positive diagnoses.

Alison strives to create a warm, safe, and supportive environment, and to help you develop the tools to overcome your barriers to happiness. She provides sensitive, tailored therapy that draws on your strengths to help you achieve your goals. Alison became a therapist because her own struggle in quarterlife drove her to draw on her own strengths to help others. When she’s not working with clients, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and listening to music.
