Grief Resources for Quarterlife Young Adults

Grieving the loss of a loved one is never easy. And it’s particularly hard for quarterlifers (young adults in their twenties and thirties) for various reasons. Some of the ways quarterlife young adults can survive the painful feelings of grief is to learn about others’ experiences with loss by reading books, articles, blogs, listening to podcasts, and participating in support groups.

From my work as a therapist over the past 15 years, I created a list of grief and loss resources that quarterlife clients have found to be helpful.

Books

Grieving: A Beginners Guide. Jerusha Hull McCormack.

It’s Okay that You’re Not Okay. Meeting Grief and Loss in a Culture that Doesn’t Understand. Megan Devine.

A Grief Observed. C.S. Lewis.

The Rules of Inheritance. Claire Bidwell-Smith.

Splitting the Difference: A Heart-Shaped Memoir. Tre Miller Rodrigeuz.

Poor Your Soul. Mira Ptacin.

The Light Of The World. Elizabeth Alexander.

The Way Men Heal. Thomas R. Golden.

I’m Grieving as Fast as I Can: How Young Widows and Widowers Can Cope and Heal. Linda Feinberg.
