If you feel stuck in your job, if you are not sure what your next move could be, or you lack motivation to explore what’s possible because of burnout and overwhelm, working with a career coach can help you!
We offer coaching to young professionals who want to explore what is possible for their career prospects, their leadership journey, or even how to manage their neurodiversity (like ADHD) in the workplace.
What is career coaching?
The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”
At the core of this definition is the understanding that YOU – the client – are in the driver’s seat. You have the insights and potential to move forward on your path in a way that makes the most sense to you. You are the one who crafts and owns your story. A coach asks powerful questions to bring your insights out; shares tools and resources to help you act on those insights; and guides, supports, and celebrates you along the way.
How can working with a career coach help me?
Partnering with a coach can help you:
Clarify your career vision: whether you are still exploring options, wanting to switch careers, or preparing to advance in your current space, a coach can help you clarify your desired path.
Identify your values and strengths: kknowing the values and strengths you bring is critical to owning your professional story and communicating how you can help employers solve problems or empower teams.
Craft and practice delivering your professional story: knowing who you are and what you are motivated to do is not enough; you also need to be able to communicate that to potential employers, contacts, and clients.
Refine priorities:ensuring you spend time on the activities that are most important to you.
Explore techniques to manage your neurodiversity at work: enhancing executive functioning helps with organizational skills, time management, focus, perspective taking, and emotion regulation.
Focus on next steps: identifying the ones you need to work on between coaching sessions as well as the longer-term ones.
Provide accountability and support as you progress in your journey.
How often and for how long do I meet with a coach?
Career development is a process, and coaching can take time. Coaches typically work with clients anywhere from 2 to 6 months, with a session weekly or every other week. Coaching services are sold in packages of eight or 12 sessions, with the option to extend coaching on a month-to-month basis.
